How to deal with a STIFF ZIP on your HANDBAG

If you come across a stiff zip on your handbag, there are several ways you can loosen it up a little. Try rubbing the graphite end of a pencil, lip balm or wax crayon along the teeth of the zip and this should reduce friction, making it run more easily. Start with the zipper closed and rub the pencil, balm or wax along the teeth just below the zip as you gently inch the zipper open.

If you lose the thumb grip on your zip, a paper clip can help you open your handbag in an emergency. For a long term solution, a small charm or keyring can work wonders.
