Wimbledon Colours: Green & Purple Leather Handbags

The preppy tennis look for women has never been more popular at the moment; fashionable ladies are embracing Wimbledon style big time and not only is it an easy look to achieve but it looks effortlessly classy. If you want to create the ‘debonair successful lady makes good’ look for yourself firstly, get into the mind-set then go shopping. Think Grand Slam with the US, Australian and French Opens for the ultimate in tennis fashion statements. You can keep the preppy tennis look sleek and smart with an umpire style jacket and pleated skirt, or dishevelled and roguish with hoodie and shorts, to suit your own personality.

Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world and has been held at the All-England Club in London every year since 1877. As the tournament is held on grass courts it is considered to be the most prestigious tournament to win. Wimbledon colours are traditionally purple and green.

METALLICS and Fashion Handbags to Match!

If you have metallics reserved for Christmas only, think again, as designers have recently created a covetable collection for all year round. Grown up, simple shift dresses rule at Giles, whilst at Mulberry shimmering gold shorts top the bill. Topshop’s effervescent pearl maxi skirt is wonderfully kitch whilst Richard Nicoll’s pearl pink ensemble simply steals the show. Sensational metallic leather Catwalk Collection Handbags are trending worldwide.

Festival Road Test - Catwalk Collection Ashley Cross-Body Bag

One of the girls from our office went to Download Festival at Castle Donington so we decided to issue her with a handbag for the ultimate road test. Here’s how the Catwalk Collection Ashley Cross-Body Bag stood up to festival conditions.

‘I couldn’t go to the festival on the first day, Friday because I was working which turned out to be a blessing in disguise as the gales had set in and by all accounts the campsites were under water. On Saturday my friend and I arrived around mid-day and immediately checked out the local competition; no not the guys, the handbags! A lot of the girls were wearing cross-body bags and although there were some really stylish handbags and shoulder bags, I actually thought mine was the nicest and most rock-chick looking with its sexy jet black leather and brass studs.

As always, there were too many brilliant bands on at the same time so unfortunately we couldn't see them all. My handbag and I, plus friend travelled round the various stages to see Soundgarden and Megadeth and we even managed to see a smidge of Anthrax which was all super uber-heavy. Ugly Kid Joe performed 'Cats in the Cradle' and 'Everything About You' which was awesome. Sebastian Bach was also well worth seeing.

The Ashley Cross-Body Bag stood up to the job well. It carried my purse, lipstick, cagoule, Paracetamol tablets, sunglasses, small bottle of water, reading glasses, tissues, SheWee, sanitary items, festival programme, mobile phone, woolly hat and hay fever spray. The broad leather strap meant that the bag was extremely comfortable to wear all day long.

My favourite band was without doubt Black Sabbath; after all, who can possibly resist Ozzy? Steel Panther gets the vote for the best parody of a rock band, delightfully taking the mick out of themselves and talking to the crowd more than any other band, so great entertainment value with some very deliciously naughty suggestions thrown in!
The grounds were very muddy after all the rain on Friday so my handbag did get a bit mud splattered but it just wiped off with a damp sponge and no lasting damage done. Had it rained, I would simply have tucked my bag under my capacious cagoule as leather and water don’t really mix.

I also loved seeing, in no particular order, Tenacious D, Gun, Biffy Clyro and Kids In Glass Houses. Metallica were far better than I ever expected and their stage show with fireworks was truly spectacular.

Thanks to wonderful people I met at the venue, the bands, the dry weather, my dearly beloved friend and my brilliantly useful handbag, I had a fabulous time!’

Gift Ideas Dad will Love on Father's Day!

Father's Day in the UK is on Sunday, 17 June 2012

Truly understanding the impact of being a Dad can only come from experience. A man’s decision to become a father is indeed life-changing. On the one hand, there’s the excitement and exhilaration of creating a completely new and precious life and of taking on the responsibility of raising a family. On the other hand, the dedication of time, energy and finance often means a man has to give up the freedom to be spontaneous whenever the mood strikes and scaling back many of the activities and interests that defined his life previously.

The urge to procreate is a strong one and in order to continue the family line, sacrifices must be made. A man has a natural desire to impart his valuable knowledge to the next generation, to teach his children the lessons he’s learned throughout his own life and to encourage his offspring to be even more successful than he was.

Father’s Day is the perfect opportunity for sons and daughters to show their appreciation of all the sacrifices Dad has made over the years. While gifts certainly aren't the only way to show you care, there's nothing like the sense of personal satisfaction you can gain from giving a thoughtful item. We suggest any Ashwood leather product from the list below or maybe a combination of products and you’ll be sure to make a dearly beloved father very happy.
